You do realize Marx wasn't born until 1818 right? Engels in 1820. Hegel was only 18 when the Constitution was ratified.

The Post Office isn't socialist, if it were we wouldn't have UPS, FedEx, any number of other delivery and trucking lines, or private couriers. Just as the existence of Amtrak doesn't mean we have socialized rail transport. Police and Fire departments aren't socialist, they're not federally funded (for the most part). Taxing and spending in order to provide a public service isn't socialism.

They say they're for Democratic Socialism, and they know exactly what it is, but they describe Social Democracy when they talk about it so now a bunch of knuckle-draggers think taxing and spending and having a social safety net makes for socialism.

What's weird is how rightwing message board posters will spend years and decades calling western Europeans "socialists", but it is amazing when you point out that the social welfare states of Sweden, Denmark, and France are pretty nice places to live, how quickly they will back flip, flip flop, and back track to insisting Sweden and Norway are not socialist.

Basically, they are all over the map and constantly flip flopping on what they think socialism is. It usually depends on what day it is.

They basically just want to conflate Democrats with Stalin. But their big mistake is when they spend message board careers calling western Europe "socialist" but then have to rapidly beat a rapid retreat and back track when they are asked why the "socialist" countries of Sweden and France are pretty nice places to live.

It's actually pretty funny at that point to see them hollering that Sweden "is not socialist!"
