What Surprised you About this War?

They ain’t open currently, except maybe to Iranian tankers going to China.
There are no Iranian tankers going to China... only one ship passed through recently and it was carrying corn to Europe. Shoot, you can see it on the news, they have a nice map with dots representing ships....

You need a better source of news

Without insurance, no major transport is going through the Strait of Hormuz. Without reinsurance, no insurance is possible. Either trump convinces the reinsurers that it is safe, or he provides re-reinsurance out of taxpayers funds.

From what I've read & seen, there was no concrete evidence that they were restarting their nuclear program.

Here's the deal with war: we have had quite a few of them since WWII. Very few of them have gone as expected. Most have turned into a quagmire w/ no clear definition of victory, and most have led to unexpected negative consequences, many civilian deaths & much more prolonged engagement than what was originally forecast.

War is to be avoided at ALL COSTS. The measure for engagement should always be "is there an immediate threat to the security of the homeland, and are there any other options?"

WAR IS A LAST RESORT. ALWAYS.
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said the Iranians told him they had 480KG of enriched Uranium.
They erected a roof over Natanz for some reason. The Israelis say they started trying to access the uranium and did not want satellites spying on them. OK I have asked you TWICE and you have ignored it TWICE. What would you do to stop Iranians from getting nukes and ICBMs?

I basically told you. Unless it's an immediate threat to the homeland, we don't go to war.

The regime is probably staying in place. Are we going to go back to war w/ them every time we hear about them having uranium?

I guess ol' Trump was lying when he said their nuke sites were obliterated?

Damo as much as I'd like to say Phanny is wrong the news I saw say Iranian ghost tankers are turning their locators off and sailing through. I think we need to put a stop to it. We could also sail a tanker on the UAE side of the ghost tankers so Iran would be too afraid to shoot at them.

So you would let a regime that has killed over a 1000 Americans that shouts DEATH TO AMERICA and thinks they will usher Allah in by starting a final conflagration just have ICBMs and Nukes. Brilliant plan.

:smh:

As I said their sensitive centrifuges and sites were destroyed the uranium was entombed. They dug it up.

We don't do "war" well - in case you haven't noticed. It never goes according to plan or expectation, and lots of civilians tend to die.

Your emotionalism doesn't change that.

I've been against every use of our military in my lifetime. And guess what? I have ended up being RIGHT for every major conflict. I was called a traitor & terrorist sympathizer for opposing the Iraq War. Now, it's hard to find someone on the right who will admit they enthusiastically supported that dumb war of choice.

And I'm going to be right this time. We create more problems than we solve when we do this. We should have learned that lesson by now, but we have to still keep learning it apparently.

AGAIN WHAT WOULD YOU DO. It is easy to say what you would not do. Doing nothing gets them nukes and ICBMs. So what would you do?

So are we going to make them want to kill us?

News Flash: They have been doing that for decades.
