What radicalized you?

Yes. I wish Gore found a way, the courage, to contest the Supreme Court. Scalia said he wanted Bush to win.

If Gore was President, he probably would have prevented 9/11 because he would have listened to Richard Clarke.

There would never have been a 20 year occupation of Afghanistan and a 10 year occupation of Iraq.

There would never have been disastrous tax cuts that prompted a recession.

There would never have been a housing collapse and subsequent Great Recession.

The planet wouldn't be on fire.

Energy costs would be nil.

No Palin. No teabaggers. No Trump.

When conservatives attempt to complain about the minimum wage, universal health care, Medicare it seems like their heart is really not into it.

But you know when you see their genuine resentment and toxic grievance surface? When they talk about how liberals make fun of them, when they cry about the liberal chicks who wouldn't date them, when they wail about the supposed smug superiority complex of libs.

Excuse me, but are you saying we’re JEALOUS of the left?

We all run in different circles, have different experiences etc. Is this a new thing, people getting together talking about how they were radicalized? We hear about how the internet has radicalized people by sending them down these crazy rabbit holes. But are what we would think just “regular” people living their lives now all of a sudden radicalized? Like a new fad or something?

The Trojan has a point, can’t say I recall anyone I know, or who ever knew, sitting around discussing when they were supposedly radicalized

Besides, what is radically to one is moderate to another, the political spectrum is more of a circle than longitudinal, I have two friends, one far right, other left, yet if you listen to them, you’d see they have a lot in common, especially when it comes to generalizing and scapegoating

Thank goodness you are the rational one!

Were the 60s really that radical? I mean outside of some university campuses and some music festivals like Woodstock.

I don't think most of the nation was radically different in 1968 than it was in 1958. Large swaths of the country remained conventional and conservative. I don't see how a radical country could have elected Tricky Dick Nixon in 2968.
rise of feminism, anti-war movement, alternative lifestyles, gays coming out of the closet,
"are you experienced", "question authority", breaking sex based role models, black power ..

I feel bad for the younger generation. Their schooling was interrupted by almost two years. They witnessed the only violent coup attempt in US history. We still do not know why Attorney General Garland refuses to prosecute Trump.

Two friends and an uncle murdered in New Orleans. Two were home invasions both executions , the other was riding his bike on the way to his mother’s house for dinner.

of course now...

Was and do, last year, actually pretty interesting, hard to envision half million people in that one field

so we just saw him off

Baltimore has always been referred to as Bmore, be more careful, for a reason, and I w@s there also

You bring a psychologist here to explain it.

I am pointing to data. There are literally thousands of posts from Rightwingers on this forum crying about being called teabaggers and deplorables, complaining that liberal chicks won't date them, festering with resentment about university education, wailing about the supposed liberal superiority complex.

Yes, right wingers are mostly about resentment. Even that asshole Trump.
