What labor union victory looks like

You can accept whatever you like but nothing was offered. Things are far more expensive now than when trump was in office.

Actually, it was nearly impossible at points there to even buy a new truck when trump was in office. They were actually selling above MSRP.

How do you figure?

IF the fascist democrats retain power in 2024, then we can expect MASSIVE cash infusions into GM at least, probably Ford as well. What makes you think the ability of the Fed and Congress to counterfeit money will stop?

Why on earth would companies looking at strong profits get cash infusions? They definitely needed them back during Bush years. And they also had problems during the trump years. But they are doing fine now.

Did I say that. How about you talk for yourself and let me talk for myself.

I haven't seen a single Republican on this thread show the slightest pleasure that some hard working joes got a decent raise. I've only seen Republicans complain about it.

Well say that. But don't try to put words in my mouth. Because you aren't smart enough to speak for me. I don't care what they make I care about American workers remaining competitive against foreign workers. Of course what they make does have an influence on how much the product they make costs. One way we could help to reduce the final cost is by not taxing corporation for things they make in the US. But that thought makes democrats apoplectic. The more cars we can sell means the more working Joes actually have a job.

the Chinavirus halted Taiwan microchip production and that halted new car production GM and Ford both had tens of thousands of vehicles waiting for micro chips before completion.

Actually, NONE of that is true.

GM and Ford cancelled contracts to save a few dollars, and then found out that chip manufacturers had no interest in supplying unstable customers. The car makers are so impressed by their own power, they assumed chip manufacturers would just accept cancelled and renewed contracts. Chip manufacturers have huge backlogs, but were willing to support old customers, as long as they were loyal customers.

Literally some car makers lost tens billions trying to save a few million, or even less than a million. It was the height of arrogance.

Why do goobers like pickups so much?
Unless one needs a truck for commercial purposes, I don't see the point.

Wouldn't you be more comfortable in a well appointed sedan?
Is a hundred thousand dollar plus F-250 more comfortable than an S-Class?

Are you so far out in the boonies that you don't even have trash pickup?
If so, WHY???

Actually yes it is. The more upright seating position is much more comfortable. The seating is wider. There is more head room and leg room. (I'm 6'5" and 215#) And driving visibility is MUCH better. Also the crash survivability of an Ff250 is much better than most cars. For example if you smashed into my truck you would likely hit the frame rail under it. I hit a S Class I would go over its lower unibody area. And my Platinum King Ranch F250 pulls my boat and 38 5th wheel effortlessly. A few years ago I was driving my previous F250 and a lady rear ended it with a Cadillac sedan. It ruined my bumper and totaled her Cadillac

You use it to pull a large boat.
There. You've actually given me a logical reason.
Thank you.

I have long decried the substitution of unibody construction for sturdy full-frame construction.
I had the last ever full-frame sedan--the Panther platform Lincoln Town Car, so I went down with the ship.

But dressing up to go out for the evening and climbing into an F-250 isn't for me.
It's also not the best for fitting into a Boston neighborhood garage.

To each his/her own, I guess.

Also, Ford are idiots for not putting the 7.3 Godzilla into the Navigator.

Almost NONE of that is true. The chips weren't there because of covid people bought more phones and computers. And GM alone had 95,000 unfinished cars. Cars that were finished offend commanded over MSRP prices.

The global shortage of semiconductors has affected Ford and other automakers. The shortage is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which increased demand for personal electronics like cell phones and laptops. Chipmakers' production capacity was used up by manufacturers of these electronics, leaving little room to supply the auto industry.

The 6.7 powerstroke is quiet and gets better mileage that the 7.3

The 2023 Ford Super Duty has a 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque :whoa:

7.3-liter gas-fed engine with 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque

NN is a piece of work. To his credit he's overcome a lot in his life (being from Boston and probably having a god awful accent).

I'll give him credit on a board where tribalism and group think so dominate he sticks by what he believes, even if those views deviate from his 'teams'.

Truth. That is why I like him. I probably rode him too hard . :(

You need a big ass truck to tow horse trailers or big ass boats.

Look in a parking lot. There are huge trucks and SUVs all over the place. There must be a lot of big ass boats. In fact, people buy those monsters to drive around cities and suburbs.

I'd say at least 80 percent of the Ford 250s and 350s you see driving around the suburbs are just penis extenders.

It is amazing the number of people who buy a new Ford F350 every year, but claim they cannot afford to put money aside for retirement because they are living paycheck to paycheck.

A lot of them are tradesmen that need them. Not many people that drive F350 just for Fun they ride too rough. Every year :rofl2: I'd ask you for proof we all know it's BS so why bother.
