The Confederate flag however is that of a group that waged war on the USA.

This is all a matter of "optics". The Right, who has spent much of the last 8-9 years demonizing Latinos will be tempted to see Mexican flags as "provocation" since Mexico is full of Latinos and we all know what Trump thinks of them.

Waving the Mexican flag is just waving a red cloth in front of the GOP bull. They already think that there's an "invasion".

The "Stars and Bars" have taken on a different meaning, it is displayed on pickup truck's windows all over the country.

There's a reason that it keeps showing up on the "wrong" side of gatherings like Charlottesville. There's a reason that when a group has a bunch of different flags they are carrying it is FAR more common to see a group with both a Confederate flag and a Nazi flag.

In America, we fly the American Flag.

Not the Iranian Flag, or the Armenian Flag, or the Russian Flag, or the Chinese flag, or any other flag, that is not the American Flag.

If the venue is an international event, something like the Olympics, flying all flags is welcome. The LA riots, are not the Olympics.

Declaring loyalty to a hostile foreign power, is not acceptable. It really is pretty simple.
