What is wrong with the Mexican flag?

The Mexican flag is too similar to my Italian flag.

There's a reason for that:
**
Why is the Italian flag like the Mexican flag?

Italian and Mexican flags are so similar because they share the same ancestor.

Many historical sources posit that both were inspired by the French Tricolor.

Flags are a piece of fabric for Christ's sake.
Liking the colors are a good enough reason to fly one in front of your home.
More of that “serve the Pope or die” crusade with WW II Islam “death to the infidels” to force business contracts of pseudosciences as “one nation under God”…..

Displaying a flag related to your ancestry doesn’t mean disloyalty to the USA. It just means pride in your heritage.
Pride in your heritage is fine but, again, what is the point of expressing that pride when you are in a country illegally and wanting to be allowed to stay?

The Confederate flag however is that of a group that waged war on the USA.
The Mexican government waged war on the US more recently.

Not that this is an issue, it's just distraction.

The issue is the message that is sent when you wave a flag of a different country while throwing bricks at law enforcement. The message is "Mexico is your enemy and we support them, not you."

If Mexico and Mexicans were wise, they would rush say these rioters do not speak for them. Of course their president has already called them heroes.

In times past, that would already have passed the threshold for casus belli.

How do you know they are illegal? What if they are citizens protesting for illegals?
sure, they could be... either way, it's bad optics to wave the flag of the country you don't want to be in, right? Have all the pride you want, but this isn't the time.

I go to Puerto Penasco ever year for Memorial Day weekend. Without fail, there's at least one d-bag wearing an American flag swimsuit or hat at the resort pool.

It's dumb and bad timing.

You’re opinion, I disagree.

Seems to me they are our ally?

Nothing when it's flown in MEXICO! When it's flown by people rioting against America and various US government factions IN AMERICA there's a HUGE problem.

The Confederate flag is long gone as a symbol of a nation, just as the Nazi flag is. Both have become symbols of resistance to government authority and radical Rightist ideas in some circles. Both, today, are really little different from this:

Those just are on the radical Left rather than radical Right. And all, to a degree, symbolize today ideas that are evil.

Really?
Please explain.
Must be that Christiananality pedophilia national religion suicidal super ego where human reproduction medical pseudoscience rationality of illegal alien invasion business is legal with Islam flaming flying chariot pseudoscience of “death to the infidels” as “one nation under God” as Christian Nation SCOTUS Rehnquist “what is 9/11 ?” rhetorical Freudian slip…

The US invaded the Confederacy.
No, The Confederacy attacked and took over federal land and bases within the states that seceded. Between Lincoln's election and the inauguration, the states that formed the Confederacy stormed federal arsenals, fortifications, armories, and the like throughout the South. This culminated with things like the siege of Fort Pickens near Pensacola FL, and the bombardment of Ft. Sumner. So, the Confederacy in attacking federal (union) forts and such committed the first overt acts of war in the Civil War.

Why doesn't it? If you have that much pride in your heritage, stay where you are at. Why would you want to come to the US then?
This is the United States and we have a flag. We don't need another flag from another country.

Fly it with pride and respect above all others

The Civil War has been over for over 150 years. Neither the North nor South will rise up against each other again.
The "Stars and Bars" have taken on a different meaning, it is displayed on pickup truck's windows all over the country.

The Mexican Flag flown in Mexico, is fine.

In America, we fly the American Flag.

Not the Iranian Flag, or the Armenian Flag, or the Russian Flag, or the Chinese flag, or any other flag, that is not the American Flag.

If the venue is an international event, something like the Olympics, flying all flags is welcome. The LA riots, are not the Olympics.

Declaring loyalty to a hostile foreign power, is not acceptable. It really is pretty simple.

Why do I have to explain this?

You were not explaining...you were lecturing. And most of it is bullshit.

There is nothing whatever wrong with being proud of one's heritage. Many of us wear green on St. Patrick's Day. The people were showing pride in their heritage...and there is nothing wrong with that...except to Trumpers who dream up bullshit to be offended.

Trumpers: Must be offended about something...and Mexican flags fit that bill.
