McConnels ( and other moronic Reppublican Senators) farting out the omnibus bill put the stench in the House that the caucus was objecting to.

Get on with the invesrtigations, that's all the House is good for, but Oversight is a worthy goal in terms of COVID origins. Biden inc corruption, and Big tech/big gummit alliance..the Twitter files show the relationship to destroy free speech

Now that I’ve managed to educate myself on what the resistance to McCarthy was about, I’ll have to take the time to see what he gave up to get elected. Even if it’s for the good it’s probably only temporary, same if it’s for the bad.
The “problem “ isn’t a dem or Republican one - it’s both. E,g., the late Senator (R) Ted Stevens was a master of getting disproportionate spending thrown in for Alaska with nonrelated bills.
And actually it’s still happening. AK got a ton of stuff with the latest spending bills. It’s why the entire AK Republican delegation voted for it.

From what I’ve seen over the past several years, the underlying problems with our system of government are finally rearing its collective ugly head.
Either it gets worse or D’s and R’s actually work together to correct those problems.
I just don’t see that happening anytime soon.
They’ll continue to fight over their pet projects sans compromise.

McCarthy is not the speaker. He just sits in the chair. He works under the power of 20 far-right Repubs who want to destroy the system. What are the chances they will not use the power of ousting him? Better yet, use it over and over as a threat. One of the powers of the speaker is in assigning committees. He gave that away. These mental midgets pick their own committees.
I wonder if McCarthy has figured out a way to slash their power. He will be a joke if it goes on this way.
