Samaritans

There definitely was a Kingdom of Judah, and later a Kingdom of Judaea. Jews have been in the area for 3,000+ years.

History before the Babylonian Exile is very vague, so you may well be right about Judah and Israel never being united. Israelis probably immigrated to Judah, after Israel's fall, and brought their culture with them. As for whether Israelites were in Egypt, the archeological evidence suggests the reverse. Israel was occupied by Egypt at the time, or so it appears.

In 1890, I would say you have a strong point for not creating Israel. There were only a small minority of Jews in Palestine, and so no need to create trouble. Now there are millions of Jews in Israel, who have lived there all their lives. We might as well return America to the Native Americans, or England to the Celtic Britons.
