what if voting was manditory?

Race and ethnicity. Republicans hold a 49%-40% lead over the Democrats in leaned party identification among whites. The GOP’s advantage widens to 21 points among white men who have not completed college (54%-33%) and white southerners (55%-34%). The Democrats hold an 80%-11% advantage among blacks, lead by close to three-to-one among Asian Americans (65%-23%) and by more than two-to-one among Hispanics (56%-26%).

republicans have a dying base that they are NOT able to replace with younger generations

It is a dying party that goes out of its way to scare away most of the younger generations of voters

Kanye is going to deliver enough of the black vote to win. That's why your racist buddies hate him so much. :D

Prison should be for anyone breaking the laws

especially election laws that protect the vote

And people who break immigration laws? And then illegally vote in our elections? Now that's foreign interference, but it doesn't bother you, does it hypocrite?

Those with the lowest educational levels are the most likely to vote Democratic.

That may have been true at one time, Flash, perhaps even in the not too distant past.

I don't know for sure...and I doubt you do either. I AM NOT taking a position on that.

BUT...anyone voting Republican today is showing a level of stupidity and ignorance I never thought I would see in anyone actually wanting to vote.

Not everyone actually goes to a polling place and votes. Those who do...normally are showing a sense of civic responsibility that exceeds the "screw it, whatever happens happens" mentality of those who do not...and I presume to see that as evidence of greater intelligence...which itself, supposes higher education levels.

Said a bit less delicately:

Anyone voting for a Republican next Tuesday...is a fucking moron...whether that person has a post-graduate degree or is a grammar school drop out.

I hope that makes my position on the issue more clear.

If their base is dying, why are people and the media saying they will still win the senate?

Who's voting for them?

Generations. Millennials continue to be the most Democratic age cohort; 51% identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, compared with 35% who identify with the GOP or lean Republican. There are only slight differences in partisan affiliation between older and younger millennials. Republicans have a four-point lead among the Silent Generation (47%-43%), the most Republican age cohort.

My post was meant to be a shot at great, great, great, great grandpa Frank. Because he's like 100.

Im not advocating it

I am just asking a question

what if everyone had to fill out a ballot or get charged some amount of money?

that means illegal voting would not be a problem anymore huh

it also means cheating in elections would end

well at least the kind we have now.

The cheating would be reduced to altering the results in the counting phase

I would write in myself for everything as an act of rebellion.

Just 82...not 100.

Here are two pictures of me...the first at 75...and the second taken 3 months ago at 82. Both were taken during boat rides on the Hudson.,

No need to take shots...or to be concerned about me. I'm in reasonable shape.

Then, a bunch of pissed off people that don't give a shit about 'voting' ... would be voting. A real bad fucking idea. If you don't want to vote, GOOD, Don't Vote.

Hopefully it will get back down to only aristocratic white males again. Purging roles all over the land of folks certain people would rather couldn't vote. We'll get there, give 'em time. The Jews can just be mowed down in synagogues.

Here are some links that call your assertions into question, Flash.

Those do not call into question my assertions--they are the other end of the spectrum. Your articles point out that those with college degrees are leaning more Democratic (even more so for those with graduate degrees). I agree.

However, my assertion said those with the lowest levels of educational attainment (blacks and Hispanics) are the most likely to vote Democratic. Both are true. My assertion has been a long-term trend while the increased support for Democrats among the college educated has been more recent.

So, those least educated and more educated trend Democratic and those in the middle trend Republican. The election analysis referred to these Trump voters as "without a college degree" but posters on JPP and other places switched that to "uneducated" which was just an ignorant attempt degrade those they don't like.

Even the article by Silver supports my original assertion. While areas with lower educational levels voted more Republican than they had in 2008-2012, the last chart (Low-education majority-minority counties shifted toward Trump) showed the areas with the least education shifted more toward Trump but still voted for Hillary by 7%. So, the least educated counties in the study (12.8% with college degrees) voted for Clinton.
