The issue with African Americans is that they have, ON AVERAGE, MUCH higher rates of educational failure (e.g. high school drop-out), unemployment, welfare dependency, single motherhood, drug abuse/addiction, property crime and violent crime, incarceration and so on and so forth - BAD LIFE OUTCOMES These bad life outcomes are correlated with lower IQ, and African Americans have an average IQ of 85 points which is 15 points below (or one standard deviarion below) the White Western European American average which is 100 points.
Does this matter ?
Yes, it matters a GREAT deal especially in an advanced industrial/technological society like the United States in the 21st century.
It seems very likely that the lower average IQ of Afro-Americans is largely due to inherited genetic (biological) factors that , at present, cannot be improved by medical science. The political left, insists that the lower average Black IQ is due to "environmental" factors like poverty, poor schools, broken family units, systemic racial discrimination and so on. However, whether you go with the science and say the problem is genetic, or you go with the left's sociologists and say it is caused by environmental factors, the point is that the 85 point IQ average for African Americans vs the 100 point IQ average for White Western American IS FIXED AND DOES NOT BUDGE OVER TIME
