It's a Pandemic. It's very contagious. The 'social distancing' will decrease the spread. I believe the Goal is to moderate the number of affected at any given time. 80% of us will get it with not much of a problem, the other 20% are going to need some kind of medical help. By s p r e a d i n g o u t the number of affected, our existing Medical Infrastructure will be able to handle the 20%.
I supported Trump in the early banning of people from China coming here. That gave us a lot of time to prepare. The Problem was, Trump didn't use the time to prepare, but wasted it by downplaying the seriousness of what was coming our way.
Shutting down the economic life (business) here for 2 weeks will give us time to get a handle on just how many people ARE infected, and give us time to figure out just where the Hot Spots are. Much of the US may be 'Virus-Free' and can go back to every day life with no school closures, no business closures.
Did you panic like this during the H1N1 epidemic?

The worldwide death toll from this particular strain wasn't even enough to rate a percentage point as to how many people DIE annually in the USA from flu viruses that have been with us ever since I can remember.
Interesting that time tested cures and remedies have to wait YEARS before the FDA decides that they can market with declarations of they cure.....while suddenly VACCINES are being rushed through for the N1H1....a flu viruse that compared to others is NOT even exceptionally lethal.

Those countries started trying to reign things in while Trump was playing down the dangers. I'm actually kind of proud of Trump for getting with the program more recently though but the type of healthcare was never the issue with us or them. Let's squelch that desperate ploy now.
