Then why did you ignore the fact that Clinton promised to raise taxes when he campaigned, and was still elected.

Couple the revenue increase with the .com economy, and that's the main reason for a balanced budget.

Congress held the purse strings, but somehow the Clinton administration still managed to get things done

you apparently didn't read what he said.........he's right......you're wrong......if you use the popular vote to determine the electoral ratio in each state (and your candidate loses 48% of the electoral votes in CA and NY) you still come up short.....

everything is equal.......in every state the voters choose electors on the same basis........one vote for every 500,000 some residents and two votes for each state......if you want to talk about unfair, why do we allow non citizens to be counted when we talk about population........California has at least half a dozen electoral votes just for the illegals that live there.......
 
Raskin is right, but I'd go one step farther. After we abolish the Electoral College, we should let the red states secede. Let those fat hicks fend for themselves.

Minor exceptions? The five unelected presidents were John Quincy Adams, Hayes, Harrison, Baby Bush, and Trump. Minor exceptions my ass. Also, Nebraska and Maine are the only states that divide electoral votes.

Wrong. The point is that every vote should count equally. Why should votes in NYC high rises be diluted just to inflate votes in Podunk Idaho? When the EC was established candidates had to travel to communicate with voters. Now we have TVs and the internet. There is no good reason in the world to allow the EC to continue to exist.
