Read it again, junior. First, he didn't say that any religion has a right to just build their holy building anywhere they want. And he did indeed acknowledge the right of people to practice their religion and religious freedom. It's pretty weird to pretend that his statement is not an acknowledgement of First Amendment rights.

It's actually not going to be in the new ground zero tower. I'm not sure if they are going to rebuild the mosque that was there. This mosque is going to be located two blocks away in a location where there's already a center for Muslims. If nyc had denied them permission to build solely because of their religion it would be an obvious 1st amendment violation.

You will not find that sentiment posted by me on this board, or anywhere else. I fully support their freedom of religion, and property rights, and as much as I think it's distasteful and disrespectful, I believe they are within their rights, and we must adhere to our system and rules. And your "trophy mosque" is not even a mosque in the truest sense of the word. So this claim is bullshit. It is a community center to be open to all, with most of the facilities having nothing to do with Islam.
