What Kilmeade said, barely even made coherent sense! You have to make several leaps of assumption, just to derive the negative connotations interpreted by the left. I don't have to defend his view to support his right to express his view (as incoherent as it may be.) What he said was a real dumb ass thing to say, what he implied was stupid as well... should he be FIRED for this? No, I don't think so... especially if we aren't going to demand Letterman be fired for what he said in a planned rehearsed monologue!
My God people! You act like Kilmeade came onto the set dressed as Hitler, and pontificated about the virtues of Nazism all day! He made an off-the-cuff remark! He wasn't ADVOCATING racial purity! He wasn't SUGGESTING we would be better off if we practiced racial purity! He made a somewhat valid observation regarding the health care debate, and the irrelevant point the left keeps throwing up about Scandinavian health care! Anyone with half a brain should be able to understand, it is not RACIST to say that Scandinavian people tend to marry Scandinavians, and America is a more homogeneous society. Let's be honest, that is true. Scandinavian countries are very isolated, and have very little immigration, therefore... Swedes tend to marry Swedes, Finns tend to marry Finns... now and then a Swede may marry a Finn! It's just because of the region and culture of that part of the world, it's not RACIST to point that out!
Had Kilmeade been up there "promoting" or to use Lady T's word, "purporting" Nazi ideology of "pure race" or "superior race", then I would be on board with demanding he be fired from his job! He didn't make such a comment! He made a stupid ass incoherent statement, which didn't have a very good point to it to begin with, but certainly wasn't RACIST!
I haven't ever made such a comment, this is typical Prissy lies and distortions. He is talking about a point I made in another argument long ago. The question was, how can someone disapprove of interracial marriage and not be a racist? From my understanding of religious teachings found all over the Southern US, there are some people who believe The Bible instructs us to marry within our own race. That belief in of itself, is not "racist" because it doesn't conclude there is a superior race or an inferior race, it just maintains that religious beliefs prohibit interracial marriage. I don't personally agree with this, and I don't think that is what The Bible says, or that you would not be a good Christian if you believed in interracial marriage. My only position in the argument was, this is what some people believe as part of their religious faith, and not because they are racists. Naturally, Prissy and others immediately tied me to the beliefs of these people, and called me a racist for it. Jewish people often marry other Jewish people... does that mean they are RACISTS? Or does it mean, they just have a religiously-based belief on who they should marry? Am I a racist for raising that point, or am I merely interjecting the truth and the facts of the matter for consideration?
We live in the age of instant information. Some sports guy on a morning show can make a boneheaded comment, and by the end of the day, everyone in America has heard about it. People can make the most innocent comment with the most harmless of intentions, and someone can twist their words and meanings into the most deplorable thing you can imagine. It's almost like people get off on destroying other people's lives and careers! Brian Kilmeade is NOT a racist, is NOT a Nazi, and DID make a stupid comment. How many of us have NEVER made a stupid comment?
