Start here brother. One of the most important characteristics of people on our side of the divide is an open mind. It appears you skipped that class. You are attacking me because I dare not think as you do.
The problem with that is that we are also supposed be smarter than the other side. At least that's what we keep telling ourselves. Diversity isn't just about skin color and places of origin, its also about a diversity of thought, opinions, and ideas. I thought even moderates believe that. Am I wrong?

This thread is about 25 pages long, providing you plenty of opportunity to sanely and intelligently say anything you wanted to me. We could have discussed and debated any aspect of this conversation before you decided to attack me. I debated and discussed this with other democrats here without either of us attacking nor screaming at each other in big letters. But along comes you mischaracterizing what I've said while validating my point at the same time.

You are a centrist/moderate at best and you demonstrate by your own words what the disconnect between democrats and the Left is all about. You don't think I have a right to opinions not authorized by Pelosi or not according to the plan .. which happens to be the very same plan that lost the election in 2016. It wasn't as much of Clinton being a failed and unelectable candidate as it was that the party ran a failed strategy that didn't speak to the Left... but you want to blame them for the loss and failures. AND, here we are doing the same dumb shit again. Snubbing the Left in the convention was the absolute wrong thing to do. Not being physically connected to the protests alienates a huge swath of the most passionate voters on our side of the fence. Corporations are more connected to the call for change than the Democratic Party is. All many democrats want is to get rid of trump so they can go back to business as usual. Are critique and introspective evil?

But wait, I digress. Here I am talking about strategy and policy when its clear that this is not something you want to do ... and I don't blame you brother. The same way it was stopped during the Civil Rights era. Seriously address the issues. And given the rising numbers of cops paying the penalty for their egregious behaviors and the hope and prospects for a new administration, laws, and reforms, stopping the violence becomes more possible.

People aren't looking for half measures, they want real reform. It doesn't have to be defunding the police, but they do want real reform

Agreed this is a good approach assuming everyone recognizes their stake in the game but over the next two months trump is going stir it up as much as he can....

If it comes to an end he will of course take the cred but that may be less politically costly then it continuing??
