WATCH: Combat veterans explain why the assault rifles they used in combat have no bus

Just my opinion, but these modified military-style assault weapons are basically just penis extenders.

If I am genuinely concerned about home defense against intruders - or zombies! - the weapon of choice for close-quarters firepower is a shotgun Period, end of story.

Bingo

A kid can go into school hall(close-quarters) and kill many with shotgun and Double ot buckshot

A kid can take the family car and kill many at a HS football game crowd

Well look here. A wingnut who does not understand ballistics, cartridge capacity, rate of fire, or small arms tactics.

Uh huh, until you short stroke it.

why is the AR15 considered an assault rifle when owned/carried by a civilian......

but in the hands of law enforcement is magically transformed in to a patrol rifle???????????

BULL SHIT! I'm going with those 'radicals' at Wikipedia. Besides, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck but you call it a parakeet, it's still a DUCK.

that explains the problem.......instead of hunting for ducks you're trying to hunt with something that quacks like a duck......

Lib hypocrisy lives on. Liberals will never call for cars to be outlawed.

When you went to Vietnam you had been trained to obey orders and look after your buddies. Big difference.

How is that different? Todays warriors are much better trained and equipped than we were. Being a trained GI has nothing to do with todays mass murders.

"Being a trained GI has nothing to do with todays mass murders." I know.

John Bolton is a big NRA guy and a war hawk.. He was also a draft dodger.

Sadly there were a large number of our leaders that used the Guard to avoid Vietnam service. I don't really look at them as draft dodgers as there was always the possibility their unit could be called up. I do consider people like Clinton and others who used school and those who ran to Canada as draft dodgers.

But back to Bolton I'm not a fan of him but then I really haven't paid much attention to his background.

Yes they will. Soon you'll see people arguing that a bicycle is sufficient for transportation, that cars are too complicated, too powerful, to be owned by a normal person. Why do you need a car if have the city bus or a taxi? Mark my words, you will live to see this.

Since 2010, AR-15 style rifles have become one of the "most beloved and most vilified rifles" in the United States, according to the New York Times.[4] It has been promoted as "America's rifle" by the National Rifle Association. It has also been the weapon used in many of the largest mass shootings in the United States,[4] and is often legally classified as an "assault weapon" due to its "military features", removal of which allowed some makes to be classified as "sporting".[5]

The Colt AR-15 is a lightweight, 5.56×45mm, magazine-fed, gas-operated semi-automatic rifle. It was designed to be manufactured with the extensive use of aluminum alloys and synthetic materials. It is a semi-automatic version of the United States military M16 rifle. Colt's Manufacturing Company currently uses the AR-15 trademark for its line of semi-automatic AR-15 rifles that are marketed to civilian and law-enforcement customers.
