Yes, it is beyond the scope of reason, but it turns out that in fact the CIA was spying on the staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

How can there be any check on the intelligence community if they spy on Congress and then lie about it in congressional testimony? Already intelligence oversight is too weak and allows intelligence abuse, this practice will surely intimidate Congress and create an even weaker check on intelligence agencies[/I]

they would have to use a claim of 'national security' to seize it,
since it was refused to the FBI ( which never stopped them before like unmasking/surveillance)

Me thinks they were pleased enough to just run w/Crowdstrikes -

A White House Memo article on Monday about President Trump’s deflections and denials about Russia referred incorrectly to the source of an intelligence assessment that said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last year’s presidential election. The assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.

That's a correction the NYT was forced to post. It's says the assessment was not approved by all 17 agencies. If the roles were reversed you would be calling Trump a liar at the top of your lungs.

That much is well-established and doesn't really require pointing out, at this point.

The interesting question is why so many people felt it necessary to exaggerate/lie about the IC assement vs Russia.

thanks. I am not trying to sell some Truther stuff.
I'm trying to look at the motivations and powers to carry them out within the smokescreen of "classified" based on the institutional outlook of IC and the known liars as chief players.

add that into Congressional shift with the wind lack of resolve for oversight...

I recall one of the last Senate Intel Hearings where they were slobbering over Clapper as some kina god
