My objection was to his comment that 1 peace maker is more courageous than 1 million soldiers. I did not object to pacifism. Do try to keep up.

Oh, my mistake. I see what I was talking about. Yes, I think standing there and letting someone shoot or stab you is very courageous. But I do not think it accomplishes anything.

But feel free to tell us all what is accomplished by an individual doing that?

you are correct. and this is what bush wanted. actually, not only bush, but many other leaders as well. time will tell if democracy holds in the ME. there is nothing in islam that can relate to democracy. islam, by its very nature, is a theocracy.

Actually, from it's more likely Bush wanted a democratic Iran more than anything else. And so far (though it is FAR too early to tell) Iran isn't going to rebel. It was an incredibly unpredictable plan in the first place, and one that is remarkably long sighted in both goal and action. It's likely that the effects will outlast any of us.

Oh please. The thread that hurt your feelings so much started about trolls, but my post was about adding some control to the boards. To cut out the hostility and the off-topic bullshit. I can see why that threatens you.

Yes, I feed the troll. Because the regulars we have left are either posting only rarely or are so involved in their petty flame wars (here is where I discuss your part on the board) that they forget about the topic within a few posts. If you put 1/10 the effort into actually going with the facts, you would have some excellent posts.

I want to see this board get back to have good threads with people who stay on topic. Is that happening? Fuck no, it is not happening. So I keep bouncing around and talking on threads with topics that interest me. Just because I say that this place would be better without trolls and without the flame wars, I am supposed to provide some angelic level of behavior to satisfy YOUR sense of what is right? maybe....but i don't doubt bush wanted a democratic ME. be it, iran, SA, etc....

iraq sits in the middle and is extremely important in terms of geopolitik....

Iraq was more about position than any other thing. The fact that it was a tyrant we installed in the first place adds a certain historical flavor, but in real, practical terms all else is irrelevant. Of course we could never say that our reason for war was to democratize the ME so as to provide a buffer against Chinese incursion into the Persian Gulf oil fields.

i like this board because of the lax moderation. damo, however, takes stalking, personal info, etc....to heart. i don't mind the troll. damo does not mind the troll. if the board owner wants to allow the troll, what do you care? you're free to not post here. a few months ago i mistakenly thought damo wanted legion gone - due to beefy's posts. i was wrong, damo doesn't care and damo bans legion's usernames when he crosses the line. if you don't like the troll, ignore him. it is that simple.
