walmart raising minimum wage to 11$ per hour

Has little to do with the President, and even if it did, it should really worry Republicans because if all this economic upswing is Trump's work how do you explain his approval numbers still in the thirties

Good point. That says that people's impression of this country's issues is more than just the economy. Night after night the news goes on about the stock market hitting new heights. That's wonderful for those of us who have investments and/or 401(k) plans through work.... but for most ppl that's pretty meh. They see our leader playing who's-got-the-biggest-nuke-button on Twitter, attacking actors/media people/athletes, etc. on Twitter, golfing continuously, jetting from one estate to another, lying lying lying (about everything!) -- and are ashamed and embarrassed for us as a nation. That's why his approval rating sucks.

If women are going to drop babies at the taxpayers' expense, they better be working too and shoulder some of the financial responsibility.

$15,000 to $20,000/year is sufficient to live on when one lives a responsible life.

Right. Well, maybe if the person emulates the typical moron who makes statements like that, who lives in his mom's basement on her dime.

Depends on the amount of dependents type of public transportation, and if you plan on eating something besides Raman Noodles

I have an '01 Honda Civic, paid for since 2008.
Since 2005 I have stuck with the same basic weekly menu. 4 nights a week is Ramen noodle soup with a huge salad (romaine, spinach, kale, tomato, green beans, olives, pepperoncini's) with a can of tuna mixed into it. 1 night is chicken/rice/veggies, 1 night is ground beef/potatoes/veggies and Sunday night is a traditional English breakfast (eggs, Philadelphia scrapple, grilled tomato, grilled mushrooms, beans and toast).
Breakfast is either oatmeal & bananas or a traditional German combination of cold cuts, Muenster cheese and some fruit.

It CAN be done. :)

No. It's someone who has no mother, father, siblings, children, grandchildren or other human being on the face of the earth to bail her out of consequences from bad decisions. "She" has understood what it is to NEED to be self-sufficient in order to survive.

But should poor wages mean eating at a third world level!

For $11 an hour by a company worth billions, not hardly

Curious if you have numbers of profit per employee and what raising wages would do to it?

I know on the surface it sounds great, you're a big rich company so pay people more. And that appeals well to emotion. But there's a lot more that goes into a business model than arbitrarily picking an amount to pay employees based on revenue.

I know you say things like this to get a reaction and you do a good job of it. But do alt-right people really believe we should have an all powerful Putin like dictator?

o.O what does this have to do with minimum wage hikes in Walmart?

Basically Wally-world is giving to the employees the money that otherwise would have gone to Washington D.C. :)
No wonder the left apoplectic. LOL
