Voters in Apopka, Florida, were turned away from their polling place by workers who said they ran out of Republican ballots.
At two polling places where long lines were visible, voters were turned away, ClickOrlando.com is reporting. New ballots were being printed and sent to the polling places, but many voters said they had other commitments and left.
Some officials allowed voters to use the machine designed for disabled citizens, others just left.
There were other issues. Technical issues plagued several polling locations in Orange County, where officials had to use backup paper registries to enroll voters when their registration couldn’t be identified. That particular issue was a “connectivity problem” and Orange County Elections Supervisor Bill Cowles said technicians were sent there to fix the issues.
