​Though Vermont does not have a stand your ground statute, the state supreme court has held that there is no duty to retreat before using force in public.
It is now officially illegal to train somebody for a criminal insurrection, however.

The reichnuts on this forum might be good for spreading agricultural fertilizer, maybe, but certainly not for anything else.

I am quite adept at self defense, and I don't require a gun. So no, self defense was not outlawed. They just won't let dumb fucks like you meet in the woods to drink beer and shoot shit. Tough. It's going to get a LOT worse for scumbags like you.

I have medals and trophies--public record--and cannot defend myself against somebody ten or twenty feet away with a gun.
Nor could I have in my youth.

Vermont, however, did not outlaw self defense, with or without a gun.
As you noted, they outlawed idiot seditionists from forming private militias.
Every state should do that; certainly the civilized blue ones.

Agreed. When I was held up at gunpoint, I abandoned any Chuck Norris fantasies and complied. My point is that self defense in almost every case doesn't involve dealing with an armed person. Paramilitary training, which by and large involves a bunch of drunken male losers shooting guns in the woods and fantasizing about killing some libs, is no longer legal in Vermont. Move to Idaho, you'll have plenty of company.
 
They could have made a second amendment guaranteeing the right of private citizens in good legal standing to own firearms,
and then, as firearms evolved, they could have amended it to limit that right to reasonable types of firearms.

Instead, the fucking morons had to talk about militias, encouraging true idiots everywhere to become dime store Rambos.
