And so......what now for Palestine and its protectors under international law ? We've seen the tail-end of a US administration give a nod towards justice, peace and the rule of law by keeping schtum when asked to condemn Israeli criminality. That was better than using a nauseatingly hypocritical veto- as was usually the case. But Obama gave Israel fifty billion dollars of US taxpayers money and voted against recognition of the Palestinian state at the United Nations when 138 other countries voted for it- a humiliating defeat for the US along with the eight other countries who voted against the physical and legal reality of a state of Palestine. As he left the White House, Obama could have made a difference. He could have recognized Palestine and freed millions of people from the tyranny of neoZionism. Instead- he gave us Chelsea Manning.
So goodbye, Barack-the-might-have-been.
And hello, Donald-the-wannabe.
But does Donald really want to kill off all hope of peace and justice in the Middle East- maybe in all the world- by moving the American Embassy into occupied territory and compromising all Americans by putting his new-found power behind the criminal Israeli regime ? The world won't stand for it, you know. America is not as powerful as hardened patriots would have us believe. The US is not beyond compromise and the way forward for Trump is to comply with international law. That's how to make America great.
