You're mistaken. Palestine already has access to the international courts. You've failed to notice that the article I linked to was from 2014. Neither are Palestinians stateless. The UN recognized Palestine as a non-member observer state in 2012. That's de facto statehood- and the Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders was recognized at the UN by 138 countries with only 9 opposed. The 9 included the USA, Canada, Israel, the Czechs and a smattering of US-dependent Pacific Islands that few people are even aware of. The writing for full UN membership is clear and indelible.

Israel withdrew from Gaza because Sharon was under the impression, rightly or wrongly, that Bush had promised him permanent occupation of West Bank settlement areas in exchange. The other determining factor was that trying to protect the illegal squatters in Gaza was financially prohibitive- due to the activities of the resistance organized by indigenous Palestinians.

I brought the Mandate in because Moon was going on about borders and international law. No matter how you slice the Mandate territory, Israel ended up with very little of it---and it will be even less if some people have their way.

Occupying Palestine does not contribute to Israel's ' security '. It creates enemies that otherwise would not exist, for one. Secondly, there is no strategic value in it in the face of the capabilities of modern weaponry. Israel's best defence is the law- and it becomes less legitimate and more insecure every time it opposes it. Crime is like that.

That is how it is just about everywhere, particularly in regions of extended conflict or violence. The people (citizens) can figure out a way quickly to resolve their differences. See it all the time around this world. It is the worlds leaders themselves that fuck everything up. Ego's or bad Intel. The worlds population needs to smarten up and really look at who they are putting power over themselves.
