then you are not paying enough. There is always an equilibrium. Having illegals around gives too much power to employers as it lowers the negotiating power of labor.

It was well before Obama, the process needs to be streamlined and faster processing, less expensive. The American Farm Bureau had tried to work with previous administrations to no avail.

Lol, I think it doesn't matter what I do or say here, you are going to find fault! I do support groups who try to improve life for the farm workers. I think they are a vital part of our economy. I have written letters and made calls in the past. My cause at this moment is healthcare, but this has reminded me how important a cause this is.

Thanks, I try to be, growing up in Kansas I saw how hard working, honest and trustworthy immigrant farm workers are. I saw how hard they work and for little praise and consideration. They are an under appreciated asset.

BTW, thanks, President Trump, for slowing the pace of illegal immigration and sparing vulnerable foreign workers - many of them children - poor working conditions and economic exploitation by greedy farm owners, said no DemocRat ever. :rolleyes:

One has to see it to understand it. Quite a few fish houses hire illegal labor. Hard working people like the farm workers. They get treated like crap. Not all houses mind you, but a good portion. I will not sell to those houses. Would rather eat the cost of fuel to go to another port where they treat folks better.

The significant downturn in the number of illegal border crossers between the U.S. and Mexico is "nothing short of miraculous," National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said on C-SPAN Monday.


"As far as the Trump administration's efforts on immigration, this is something they campaigned heavily on," he said. "At six months, where we are on meeting those promises, we are seeing nothing short of miraculous. It has caused a number of illegal border crossings to go down. We have never seen such a drop that we currently have."


"There's a vibe, there's an energy in the Border Patrol that's never been there before in 20 years that I've been in the patrol," Judd added .


This month, Customs and Border Protection reported a 53 percent decrease in the number of apprehensions at the southwest border since last year. The number also includes those deemed inadmissible. CBP sees apprehensions as a proxy for how many people are trying to cross the border, and says the drop in apprehensions indicates a drop in attempted illegal crossings.


Judd said the Trump administration commanded border agents to carry out laws, while the Obama administration kept agents from doing their jobs.
