Union chief says Trump's impact "nothing short of miraculous"

It is actually happening. I refer you to union boss Judd:

The significant downturn in the number of illegal border crossers between the U.S. and Mexico is "nothing short of miraculous," National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said on C-SPAN Monday.

"As far as the Trump administration's efforts on immigration, this is something they campaigned heavily on," he said. "At six months, where we are on meeting those promises, we are seeing nothing short of miraculous. It has caused a number of illegal border crossings to go down. We have never seen such a drop that we currently have."

"There's a vibe, there's an energy in the Border Patrol that's never been there before in 20 years that I've been in the patrol," Judd added .

This month, Customs and Border Protection reported a 53 percent decrease in the number of apprehensions at the southwest border since last year. The number also includes those deemed inadmissible. CBP sees apprehensions as a proxy for how many people are trying to cross the border, and says the drop in apprehensions indicates a drop in attempted illegal crossings.

Judd said the Trump administration commanded border agents to carry out laws, while the Obama administration kept agents from doing their jobs.

Migrant labor not coming across the borders now is not helping those already here being exploited. And to further that train of though there grasshopper, what makes you think they only come over the southern border? Many, many ways to get into this country.

ICE raids are.

Just think - all those folks deported for illegally entering the USA can no longer be cruelly exploited as part of a vulnerable workforce.

ICE knows that. Got a boat?

Then you're familiar with Entry and Exit Requirements for shipping and pleasure craft.

Sure, they can smuggle illegals and get away with it, but sooner or later...

Very much so. Most smuggler eventually get caught. If they get greedy.

One has to see it to understand it. Quite a few fish houses hire illegal labor. Hard working people like the farm workers. They get treated like crap. Not all houses mind you, but a good portion. I will not sell to those houses. Would rather eat the cost of fuel to go to another port where they treat folks better.
That's honorable as well.

LuvTrump, Covfefe and all. Thanks. This is an interesting thread to me. Hope you all have a great evening.

Very cool. Let's slash the border patrol budget by 50%

lol.......out of the first six hits three were from 2013, one was from 2016, one was from June 2017 and said.....
Last year marked the fifth consecutive year Santa Barbara County’s agriculture industry has struggled with labor shortages, which have ranged from 15 to 26 percent.
and the last was from June, 2017 Huffington Post which claimed its all Trump's fault because he's ended illegal immigration......

thank you Trump for ending illegal immigration......

meanwhile, I repeat......the law allows LEGAL temporary work visas for anyone who wants to pick crops.......

He hasn't done anything to correct the problem, get back to
me on this when he does.

what problem.....did you think there was a limit on agricultural work permits?.......the problem is that people, even in Mexico, can now get jobs that pay more money than picking lettuce........
