I'm not sure what the constitutional issues are in regard to restricting the speech of ex-cons. I know that they don't have all right restored. However, I also don't think that all rights can be revoked permanently. Maybe Soc could way in and tell us if there is a relevant court case?
 
I guess it shouldn't surprise me by now that the facts-optional right wing is now trying to pass off their people as though they belonged to the left. It's still infuriating.

So essentially the complaints are that they should change their name because they are NOT focusing on poverty....there should be more diversity in management, and they should cut back on the fund raising.

No problem with that.

But the information and tracking of hate groups is on target and valuable. Also, no mention in the critique of the many anti-racism community activism SPLC is involved in. And they have been involved in a hell of a lot more legal actions against hate groups besides the Klan.

Bottom line, the information obtained from them disproves the clap trap Dixie was spewing.

Who said anything about burning books? I didn't. The point I was making was that the Turner Diaries was used by McVeigh as a reference for his actions. The author was smart enough to parse is revolution guide book in the form of a 1st person piece of fiction to avoid any litigation.

If a speech or a book can be proven in a court of law to advocate, instruct and guide people to violence, and a violent act occurs as per the incitement of said speech or literature, the authors and their material can be held libel. Off hand, I don't know of any book bannings that have resulted because of this, so I'll have to do some research.
