i see this not intending hyperbole nor partisanship.MAGAts only see what they want to see. Those with the power to do so can shape the narrative to fit their world view. This is easily seen by Fox News or any other group that seeks to deceive people into believing something that isn't quite true. These people, regardless of political affiliation, religion, nationality or culture, can be recognized with a habitual usage of half-truths sprinkled with outright lies.
The "big lie" is a concept suggesting that a falsehood can gain acceptance if it is repeated frequently and is grand enough that individuals cannot fathom its untruth. This idea has historical roots, notably attributed to Adolf Hitler’s writings in his 1925 manifesto, *Mein Kampf*, where he argued that larger lies are more believable than smaller ones. The Nazis effectively utilized this concept to scapegoat the Jewish population, ultimately justifying horrific acts during the Holocaust. In contemporary contexts, the big lie continues to manifest in political discourse, with notable examples including former President Donald Trump’s claims about the 2020 election being "stolen" and Russian President Vladimir Putin's assertions regarding Western threats prior to the invasion of Ukraine. Psychologists explain the enduring appeal of the big lie by suggesting that the human mind often prefers comforting falsehoods over inconvenient truths, leading to the acceptance of repeated statements regardless of their factual basis. This phenomenon highlights the challenges in discerning truth in environments rife with misinformation.![]()

At no point is the answer to dealing with 'irrational beliefs' to try and address them with rational actions, as an "irrationally belief" defies ration, reason and logic and thus those things cannot fix it.
The answer to irrational beliefs is to challenge them and learn, to access therapy and seek facts and data and NOT to ask others to change things to make the irrational actor comfortable.
If someone has an irrational fear of violent crime to the point they cannot leave their home and you allow them to dictate to a point where they can be comfortable leaving that home what all of society needs to do, then all of society becomes unlivable and at the same time the irrational fear is NOT fixed.
I actually believe @Damocles thinks that is the answer but that is because once again, he has been duped by magat talking points.
