U.S. says 'pipe bomb' found in home of ex-cop charged in Capitol attack

yet still, nobody asking another very important question, like how did this fired police officer get a hold of an automatic weapon?

U.S. Justice Department lawyers said in a court filing that they discovered a "loaded M4 rifle"

I do not know the conditions of his bail ... but I assume that ANY firearm was forbidden ... since you are smarter than me ... is my assumption correct ???

yes, as a general rule, any suspect under bail conditions for felony charges must relinquish all firearms.................so how did he have a machine gun?

He was out on bail dofus now he's not

Prosecutors said in Wednesday's court filing that the release order should be revoked immediately because Robertson violated the judge's orders and "presents a danger to the community that no release conditions will adequately mitigate."

not an answer to the question......why does this show that we need a congressional investigation........(hint: the person who said it did has already said no one was stupid enough to say it did)......

I've read too many fucking stories of pussy assed cops going to the ER for a damned scratch on their arm......................not that you give a fuck

That is a problem with your reading selection. Many are suffering PTSD. If you looked at the insurrection through open eyes you would recognize the brutality. I have not seen a listing of what cops went to doctors for. Neither gave you. Did you watch the Trump insurrection at all? If you would have you would have seen the brutality that resulted in 5 deaths.

He probably had it prior to 1/6. It'll come out in the trial....if there is one. I suspect a plea deal and/or suicide in his cell.

Good God you sound like a Lib.

A real Marine would know the difference between an M4 and a "machine gun".

Yes, if he didn't turn in all of his guns, he's a criminal. Hence, "No bail for you!"

judge not, lest you be judged a mindless hypocrite......John 31:15

A quote you violate all the time, dumbass. It just adds to the weight that you only play a Christian online and not IRL.

1. stop being a melodramatic moron. it wasn't an insurrection.
2. i've seen worse brutality inflicted on legal gun carriers by cops in many different states, yet you aren't fucking sympathetic to them, so sit your faux outraged ass down.
3. Over the last 12 years i've been on this forum i've posted dozens of stories about police brutatlity and generally about 25% of them talk about one of more of the cops being transported to the ER where the 'injury' was a fucking scratch.
4. If you think 5 deaths is a tragedy, you haven't been paying any fucking attention other than what your Dem handlers want you to know

1. If it was deparment issued, why wasn't it returned upon his firing?
2. How could a cop own a personal machine gun? unless the machine gun prohibition is being applied unfairly across the nation????

The M 4 is an automatic but NOT a machine gun

BTW ... THANKS for the infor ... but your comment about "as a general rule" leaves me curious ... care to educate me more about this ???

1. Common sense says it wasn't department issue. If it really was an M4, he either had a license for it and registration or it was illegally held. My guess is the police force didn't know he had it.

2. You can buy a machine gun. They're like $5K and require licensing and registration...and, IIRC, ATF checks.

If it's an illegal weapon, that'll be added to the charges.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

In general, I agree with your post, but only a violent minority of nutjobs, racists and malcontents are seeking to overthrow the US. Most, like the Republican leadership in DC, are doing nothing. They aren't helping and they aren't actively hurting. They're just standing around waiting to see what happens.

Notice how quickly Kevin McCarthy flipped his tune after 1/6.

Elected Republicans are hurting the US by supporting Trump and accepting his deranged hate vote to stay in office.

thank you for confirming you are not a real Marine.............I always suspected and now you've confirmed that you're a lying piece of shit liberal

An M4 is an assault rifle. An M60 or a SAW is a machine gun.

Suspect all you like. I suspect you're a big talking coward. You talk tough, but don't do shit.

What is an M4 Carbine rifle?

The M4 Carbine rifle is a more compact and lightweight variant of M16A2 assault rifle of the 5.56X45 NATO caliber class. A carbine is essentially a long gun that has a shorter barrel than a conventional rifle or musket. Some of the carbines are compacted forms of full length rifles but use the same caliber ammunition. Some even fire ammunition designed for handguns.

The appeal of an M4 for troops is the compact size which allows greater maneuverability as well as ease of movement and agility due to the lighter weight. The M4 Carbine is therefore used by mobility troops, special operation troops, paratroopers etc. It is also used by those troops who are not required for full combat operations. However, the weapon is being used as standard-issue in many Armies like in the US, precisely for the fact that the reduced weight can be offset against added equipment that gives the troops added edge in the battleground.

The design of the M4 Carbine originated in the US and has been adopted and modified by various manufacturers around the world. The gun has been used in several wars including the Colombian conflict, Kosovo war, Afghanistan war after 9/11, Iraq, Syrian civil war, Iraqi civil war, Yemeni civil war etc.

The gun weighs 2.9 kgs without cartridges and 3.4 kgs with a 30 rounds. It has a standard iron sight but is capable of being fitted with various kinds of scopes. It can fire at a rate of 750-900 rounds per minute depending upon the barrel temperature and ambient conditions. Its shots travel at a rate of 910 m/s and it has an effective range of 500 metres.

so THIS is the part of the ATF rules and laws you choose to ignore? that of their definition of what a machine gun is?
