medicaid is also part of the federal safety net which would not be needed if there was single payer health care for all

If you paid into it then you earned it. But let's be honest, you would have gotten a much better return if you had been able to invest that money yourself and use part of it for income insurance instead of GovCo taking it from you at the threat of incarceration.
