tubman replaces jackson

Apart from keeping a fifty in my wallet just so USG can kiss my ass every day I don't much care. Only change I would like is killing the penny and one dollar bill. That frees up the cash register to have a home for dollar coins.

It would save the government millions!

choosing someone to put on something new is not done for political correctness......taking someone off and putting someone else on because it will make some group feel better about themselves is done for political correctness........how long before we get a transvestite hero(ine) on a fifty dollar bill?.......

So we have to keep outdated heros on our bills forever, it would be politically correct to ever change it? Silly!

Jackson is simply not a hero as considered by todays standards, can you name a significant accomplishment? Tubman is much more of a hero to the current American mindset. I am always for updating and modernizing.

The Republican uproar on this issue simply illustrates how the Republican party has embraced the ideals of the old Democratic party, and vice versa. You guys want to celebrate the king of the old Democratic party at the expense of an early Republican hero.

one of his achievments is the american indian war which along with the mexican american war (what i call the american wars of conquest) set the US up to be the world power it is today.

If we were to give back florida texas california arizona and other states won in those wars US would be a second rate power now.

While the wars may have resulted in American power, the justification and murderous genocide is not something to be proud of.

I cant get anyone to even tell me what politically correctness is.

I think its code for, we should not call out racism anymore.

Have you been living in a cave?

I know its talked about a lot. I know people use it for lots of things. Its simply not defined, like the boogy man, that way one can call anything politically correct and have succeeded in criticizing it without taking a real stance on why.

Trump opposes putting Tubman on the $20, because its politically correct. What does that mean?

The modern Republicans are mad about replacing a white, racist, slave owning, ethnic cleansing, Democrat, with a black, gun owning, evangelical, Republican...

and they claim the parties did not switch sides on the race issue....

There's no question politically correct is a term that has/can have a wide variety of meanings. It can be used in many different contexts.

So, why is putting Tubman on the $20 bad because its "politically correct"?
