Trump's tax cut proposal

*Corporate tax rate of 15% - great
*Double the standard individual tax deduction -great
*A one-time repatriation tax - great
*Eliminate the estate tax - not a fan of
*Eliminate itemized tax deductions other than charitable donations and mortgage payments - great
*Repeal 3.8% tax on net investment income - not sure
*Repeal the alternative minimum tax - not sure

btw just a summary of the tax plan

*Corporate tax rate of 15%
*Double the standard individual tax deduction
*A one-time repatriation tax
*Eliminate the estate tax
*Eliminate itemized tax deductions other than charitable donations and mortgage payments
*Repeal 3.8% tax on net investment income
*Repeal the alternative minimum tax

I can't remember a proposal or plan that was so skewed in favor of the wealthy.

Again - I get making the tax rates less prohibitive for corporations to stay domestic. But things like eliminating the estate tax and repealing the AMT are so blatantly for the rich, and against the middle class.

eliminating state tax from federal deduction hits the rich hard

the estate tax im not sure off but the AMT and the rest are trying to simplify the tax code.

What if you actually commented on the topic for once Zap instead of commenting on other posters? What did Trump say differently on the campaign trail compared to what's in his tax proposal that makes you believe Trump voters got conned?

I comment on the topic quite often.

Right now, over on another thread, I am being personally attacked for my comments on the topic.

If staying on topic is so important to you, then maybe once or twice you might call out those who go off topic to spew their personal attacks at me.

What tax deductions to you ignore? You do realize that you aren't legally obligated to take deductions. So you are free to pay MORE in taxes to help the poor which I hear liberals claim all the time. But, when challenged with this very question they backtrack. Will you? Or will you lie?

Come on let's be honest. Not only do you take EVERY deduction, but you probably cheat on your taxes too. For example, ever claim charitable deductions you never made? Bet you have. Do you declare sales tax that you didn't pay for online purchases? Most states give you a chance on your state income tax to pay the sales tax you didn't pay for online purchases. Bet you don't.

So you are probably a tax cheat yourself, but you try to sound bold yelling about the rich. You only look petty and small.

Ah yes, good old GOP projection.

THEY cheat on their taxes, therefore EVERYONE does.

Yes Zap, you are a victim.

I'm curious if you have an actual opinion on politics since a large majority of your posts involve name calling with other posters.

And what does that have to do with federal income taxes?

You're claiming rich people don't pay taxes. Our state clearly shows otherwise. And if the plan as proposed goes through they won't be able to deduct the state taxes so they will get hit hard.

Oh my, without that deduction, how will the rich be able to afford that third house they've been wanting?

nice attempt at snark but still a failure. But we should expect the rich liberals in NY, NJ, Connecticut and Cali who will be hit the hardest not to complain right?

Really?

The top 1% don't pay gasoline taxes? Payroll taxes? And according to you they don't buy stuff.

You might want to back up your claim with statistics and facts not wild supposition

I agree with that great liberal Thomas Jefferson. The poor should pay a higher tax rate. We would have fewer poor people

But that's NOT what Cypress said, now is it?

You expect others to back up their claims, and then you just make up whatever bullshit you want.

Really? Only the rich pay estate taxes and AMT?

How special of you calling for others to have more of their money confiscated by gobblement to give you stuff. What a guy
