The conservative website Redstate posted an op-ed rebuking Trump’s use of the California lawyers group as proof of Judge Curiel’s political motives. The writer, Leon Wolf, called the effort to disparage the association "dishonest."

"As far as I can tell, they appear to be a pretty garden variety special interest lawyers association," Wolf wrote. "Every state has these chapters for Hispanic lawyers, black lawyers, women lawyers, Mormon lawyers, Christian lawyers, Jewish lawyers -- you name it, there is a lawyer association for it in every state."

Our ruling

Trump said Curiel belonged to a group that is very strongly pro-Mexican. The California La Raza Lawyers Association does advance the interests of the Latino legal community and works on issues that matter in Latino communities more broadly.

However, it has stayed on the sidelines in the immigration debate. The one exception is one letter from a dozen years ago which objected to a television show on the grounds that the program encouraged people to enter the country without documentation. The group’s rare court filings focus on civil rights in general.

Trump’s statement is accurate only in the sense that the association’s mission aims to support Latinos, but even that is flawed because he said the group was pro-Mexican and the Latino designation reaches a wider set of people. The claim ignores critical facts that would give a very different impression.

Ok, so Trump was misinformed about the nature of the group the Mexican judge was associated with.

That makes his comments about the judge ‘racist’ lol? And I don’t care what Paul Ryan said: he’s not the final arbiter of what constitutes racism.

How many other of the charges of Trump’s supposed racism can be dissected this easily?

If Clinton had carried any combination of the rust belt states she would have cake walked into the oval office.
I simply stated "THE DOCUMENTED FACT"......The people that elected Donald Trump were the working stiff blue collar democrats from the supposed BLUE WALL STATES of Wis. Michigan, and Pa. just like the democrats that voted for Mr. Reagan and were called Reagan democrats....these blue collar democrats from the rust belt (the one's labeled as deplorable fly over states by Clinton) elected Mr. Trump. The so called independents always vote with their pocket books in favor of SELF INTEREST and carry no party affiliation. With the economy booming.....the independents will never support the radical left wing party that has been kid (literally) napped by the young social communists pretending to be democrats (unless...as stated earlier you are a socialist democrat "PLAYING" libertarian). They(the pussy posse) now own the democrat party as Mr. Trump baited the entire party into supporting their radical agenda even though they have accomplished nothing for THE PEOPLE that sent them to DC. ;)

When the actual numbers are quantified....there is a 3% gain for Mr. Trump....not a loss whatsoever. Trump "wins" again with the exchange between the pussy posse and the POTUS with a net gain in popularity....voiding the SPINNING with the false premise that it was independents that elected Mr. Trump. In Reality the independents are the only constant voters in the nation....they always vote for their pocket books and self interest. The Obama Administration was an abomination for this capitalistic republic as evidenced by the static 1.9GDP growth index over the entire 8 year period of failed democrat policies.
