I think there was always a base of about 40% or so of any society that is stupid, and GOP strategists just decided that trying to get most or all of them into the GOP was a good strategy as they would be the least likely to realize they were being manipulated by the rich, in ways that harm their own interests.

The problem GOP strategists have is these stupid people are so dumb they do not recognize they are stupid and thus try to be the most vocal in the room offering views, which never ends well. The Presidential Records Act states that all documents must be turned over to the National Archives upon leaving office.

Trump is not being charged with that because they know they would have to charge Biden also yet all presidents have violated that law since it was passed.

This is why the DOJ is prosecuting him under the Espionage Act which doesn't apply here and which is why they won't get a conviction.

The law is the law. The law is not what you are claiming here. You are the one interpreting the law in a ridiculous fashion. No one can be charged with a crime under the PRA since it is not a criminal statute.
The espionage act requires evidence of willful intent to charge a crime. The law is not interpretive. You have to have evidence and be able to prove that intent to charge the crime.

The law works the way it is supposed to. Not the way you are bastardizing it for your political purposes.
