Trump warns Chicago: I'll 'send in the Feds' if violence rises

Obama sent in the Feds, i.e. the FBI, many times to investigate shootings. Why can't Trump do the same?
 
Part of the problem here (and in many things Trump says) is the vague language he uses. What federal entity will he send, and to do what?

Last time I checked FBI stats, over 50% of murders were committed by blacks, more specifically black males. So that is roughly 7% of the population committing half of all murders.

But do you believe that is due to their genetic makeup, or the socioeconomic status many of them are born into?

Well I just know if Obama had said these exact words we'd be hearing some sky is falling martial law nonsense from some on the right.

If the President activates the N.G. for civil unrest it is either martial law or a form of it. I do not see the violence in Chicago rising to that level. The Governor can certainly activate it and it does need to reach that level. So, I would assume it would be Federal law enforcement agencies. Of which we have plenty.

The EPA apparently has an armed SWAT team to check on how miners keep the water clean in Chicken, AK. They'd be put to better use in S. Chicago.

That's right, Alaskans demand respect for their lands, and have brought a lot of lawsuits against the EPA to make sure people respect the air and water. They are a red state, but they know the land has to be protected for people who will just abuse it and leave, the people have learned the hard way.

I have no idea what he's thinking, but there's a limit to what Trump can do.

I wouldn't rule out political posturing either. Having POTUS make such a statement about your city, could force a mayor to do what they otherwise might not.

Well he didn't say it, did he? So you can theorize about what we evil conservatives would have said all you want. In fact did he ever discuss plans to stop inner city violence at all, that is, unless it involved a cop or a white guy and a black victim?

Yep, that's the only time Soetoro would bother to bring in the FBI. Otherwise, he twiddled and did nothing.
