Once Obama took office, there were calls to put former President Bush (younger) on trial for war crimes:
- Abu Gheraib
- Water-boarding @Gitmo,
- etc.
Obama declined.

BUT!!

I've read that there are foreign agencies that, if they catch President Bush (younger) out of the country, they'll arrest him and put him on trial at the Hague.

Samantha Bee had an interview with a few of the Russian trolls, they were doing what the American right wing trolls have been doing for over twenty years now, demonizing a woman because she wanted to bring healthcare to all Americans. OK, that's just a part of it, but when Hillary proposed healthcare reform the legions of money came out against her and the plot started. I think the democrats made a great mistake when they said they'd go high when elections are at the margins and hate motivated a large swatch of America. When the republicans screw the blind tools who voted for them by hurting Medicare, social security, the environment and heathcare I wonder will the working class wake up? The conservative rich in America support a network of trolls who hide in think tanks and media outlets and do a fantastic job of keeping their base looking in the other direction and blaming the other.

Right wing trolls are followers as I noted in my Emasculated American thread, the right winger could be a Russian troll it really wouldn't matter as the goal is similar, for the thoughtful and non-trolls excellent reads below.

It's impossible to prove either way.

The problem is nothing that was leaked was ever demonstrated to be untrue. In fact, the leaks were instrumental in educating voters on the depth of corruption in the democrat party. An informed electorate is never a bad thing in a democracy.

The crux of the Hillary loss boiled down to jobs and the economy---that, and not the Russians, was how she lost the Rust Belt. This was a Rust Belt election, in a sense.

Also, democrats need to come to the realization that not every candidate is going to attract black or other minority voters like Barack did. If you're not careful, you're going to find yourselves chasing the identity politics carrot every four years and ignoring voters who put jobs and the economy ahead of the race/gender windmill.

Have you noticed that the complaint by the left was that information was provided yet nothing about how information can't be provided unless it actually occurs? The left's argument isn't that it didn't happen but centers around it being exposed.

BUT !!

What appears beyond dispute? The following:

a) Putin prefers Trump (R) to Hillary (D).

b) These hack allegations have been investigated, and traced to Putin's office.

Whether Putin caused Trump to win, who knows?

But because it can't be absolutely ruled out; there remains the taint of suspicion; that the Russian hack might have. And even if not, might have been intended to; even if a failure.

Not sure it's been made clear here. The U.S. hacks too.

BUT !!

There's a difference between:

1) simply examining information

2) Obtaining information and publicizing it as North Korea (China) did with Sony Pictures.

3) Deliberately attempting to influence a sovereign nation's political process.

The latter is a serious escalation, and ought not be dismissed as being as trivial as the other two.

The Democrats say the Russians hacked information, that information was provided/posted, and it influenced the election. What the Democrats don't argue is that the information is incorrect just that it shouldn't have been posted. It goes back to the outlook that if you don't do it, it can't be posted.
