Trump Says He'll Overrule FDA for Being "Political"

Political blindness this extreme must be hard to imagine until you come up against it.

The idea that Donald Trump is better trusted to make a nonpolitical judgment than a science based agency on a matter that directly affects him politically is a definition of nonsense.

So, don't take the damned vaccine and quit kvetching! Others want a vaccine asap. Do want you want for yourself, others will do want THEY want for themselves. geeeeeeeeesh!:palm:
You ever hear of choice???????

All of a sudden decisions aren't between doctor and patient, and "my body, my choice" doesn't count anymore.

BTW, people may not have a choice on vaccination.

Perhaps because it's novel and more testing is needed. Besides, I think they're considering it but didn't make a move yet.

As I understand it - the reason was giving - they would change because public polls show only 50% would take it right now

but the policy to approve is the same as it always was. If we change it because polls show distrust - you have to look at who is sowing that distrust - and that is political

Ah yes. But why does Trump think this is about him? You mean the media is sowing the distrust?

That's a possibility. Also there's so much disinformation on Facebook as well.

My thing though - I don't care if the first release has a low adoption rate. If it proves safe and effective, the rate will ramp up - and if we have some issues - the use will fall off a cliff

So I am not supportive of changing the rules because of public sentiment

The job in this case being to get a vaccine out before the election whether the science shows it is ready or not. No worries, however. Donald Trump will know if it's ready.

With leftist in control of science no vaccine would ever be "ready" before the election. Its amazing how lazy you people are.

The Issue is the FDA just said it would DELAY an approval process - not for medical reasons -
but to "insure public confidence" . They talked of tracking subjects for 2 more months instead :palm:

Harris and Biden have been talking down the "Trump's vaccine" -deliberately not saying the FDA approval process is 100% done by vaccine experts inside the FDA.. That talking down has eroded public confidence. it's like 60-40

So Trump is saying forget that "politicization" in favor of getting it out ASAP when the FDA approval process
allows for efficacy etc.
..

How could I (for example) be forced to get vaccinated?

States have the authority to regulate public health and they have in the past mandated vaccines.

The classic case in this area of law, Jacobson v. Massachusetts, was decided by the Supreme Court after a smallpox outbreak.

Cities have powers, too: In 2019, Blue York Shitty required people living in four ZIP codes in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to get the measles vaccine, prove they've already had it or face a $1,000 fine.

Universities may mandate students, faculty and staff to be immunized before coming on campus. Schools may have the same requirements for children.

Can an employer fire you if you refuse to get immunized? Yes. They can certainly fire you if you don't want to follow "health and safety rules.” Employees who are part of a union may be exempted from the vaccine requirement.

Can airlines, restaurants, stores and stadiums make the vaccine a condition of doing business with you? Yes.

Nancy Pelosi wants to force you to wear a mask, too.

I want to do Trump's lethal injection after his treason conviction. They should have a crowdfund lottery for who gets to do it.
Use the proceeds to feed the homeless.

True. It's not a very appealing thought.

Think about the behavior of many DEMOCRAT officials over the past 6 months and ask yourself if they wouldn't like to implement a mandatory vaccination order. Of course, they might hesitate it it's a "Trump vaccine". As if he's mixing up the ingredients himself with Barron's chemistry set..
