That’s kind of a problem, isn’t it lol.
What I don’t understand about the left’s weird obsession with statues is how removing them is going to change anything. It’s not going to budge the needle on racism or ‘anti-racism’—whatever the latter even means. All it seems to accomplish is to create more divisions in society.
This is made even more odd by the fact the anti-statue Crusaders are largely white liberals. I don’t understand it.
Maybe it’s one of the reasons I’m not a white liberal.
Former President Trump on Wednesday blasted the decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Richmond, Va., saying it would result in a “complete desecration.”
Trump has defended such statues from being removed in the past, calling activists' effort a means to "take away" U.S. history and culture by calling for the removal of Confederate statues.
Trump then claimed that had Lee been alive, he would have led a successful military operation in Afghanistan.

And Toadstool had his four years to "win" in Afghanistan -- why didn't he?What I don't understand is why people waste public money on putting up statues at all, especially on racist heroes (there's more to be said for Lee than for most, fair play). They just interfere with traffic for no apparent artistic purpose - over here they even spoil country walks by carving up trees! The point is that most of them offend whole sections of the population, so why should they tolerate it? Churchill, for instance, sent troops to be ready to shoot down people here, and Mrs Thatcher destroyed our industry for political reasons. Why should we tolerate statues to public enemies?
Answer my question, asshole. Why are you so offended?
Because Lee was a traitor, racist, and loser.
You don't build monuments to men like that.
You wanted it down, why can't you just look away and wipe your tears?

Well now everyone can relax...all is well, correct? Let's hope that in the future no more statues will be built that offend anyone in any way...Yeah, I don't think we should be memorializing traitors and racists...and I also recognize that monument, which was erected years after the Civil War by people who didn't even fight in it, was a tool of white supremacy and oppression since it lived on public ground.
The message it sent to Black people, Jews, immigrants, and minorities was that you take pride in your oppressive past and want to warn those uppity minorities that they're not the ones in control.

What makes RB's post even more ironic is he was born, bred, and lives in Pennsylvania -- a Northern state that fought to preserve the union. How odd that so-called conservatives in northern states support insurrection, civil war, slavery, racism, and monuments to all the above, eh?

And that all those offensive ones presently in place are scheduled for removal asap....lots of work to do....
Can't wait till we start tearing down the eastern colleges built with slave labor.
Nope...no more stautes that might be offensive to any one in any way....Period...I'm sure you believe in equality....Or, just not build statues to inadequate white men.
I know you really need those statues in order to feel better about your role in perpetuating white supremacy, loser.
Are the Eastern Colleges built with slave labor dedicated to the honor of an insurrectionist?
Lee was a gentleman's gentleman. He was asked by Lincoln to lead the Union, and politely refused because he was of The South. After losing the war, he politely surrendered, saving the nation from a decade of guerrilla warfare.
Why not learn your history instead of embarrassing yourself like this?
Almost? I believe you, though...I wonder if anyone agrees with you?Yeah, it's great! I like watching statues to losers, racist, and traitors fall....I almost like watching it as much as I like watching MAGAts die on ventilators, begging for the vaccine.
