Politicians, even conservatives in most instances, fear the labels because the media will pick it up and run with it. Their careers can be destroyed by it. Trump, either knowingly or unwittingly, tapped into this in his campaign and it's been like magic for him. My guess it's because he's not a career politician and if he bails he's still a billionaire at the end of the day.

I know you don't care for him, but even if he fails he's broken down some barriers.

I do think it's pretty cool that Phil played football with Terry Bradshaw back in high school.

He actually started ahead of Bradshaw in college and was good enough to play in the NFL but he chose to pursue his true passion instead and built a huge brand in hunting. The Duck Dynasty merchandise has come from the show but the Duck Commander brand was well known to hunters before the show came out and was successful. The show has obviously helped make it extremely successful though.
