i think that people didnt want progressive globalism because they saw that that was the thing shipping out all their jobs abroad and welcoming in all the refugees and illegal immigrants. The only other choice in the 2 party system was conservatism. I think people tried that and realized that the people at the head of the party were globalists as well so they continued shipping out jobs.

I think people finally realize that nationalist conservatism is the way to go. Its like they didnt really know what they wanted to solve the problem in the past and just tried whatever was available.

not really. At the end of the day Cruz was just another globalist pushing TPP which is why he never caught on with the trump crowd.
 
Nationalism concerns me due to its closeness with racism. The fear is that people will take it to the level Germans took it... They will claim a national identity, most likely white Judea-Christian, and start to move toward destroying everything else that does not fit the ethnic bias. Its dangerous because one of the great advantages of America was our ability to glean the greatness of many cultures and put them to work for our nation.

i agree that its paranoia. If you look at the alt-right now the people who want whites only are a very fringe group and mocked by the rest as larpers. When you look at nationalists in the past. Germany, sweden, denmark. They all tended to be pro white because the country was really white. like 80% plus so supporting whites was like supporting the country. Same with the japanese. In fact if you look now the asian countries are still mostly nationalistic (like japan and china) and they dont go around murdering blacks and whites in ovens.

America is unique because the whites are not that much of a majority. They may be one but only barely so the nationalists are really people of all races who want to put america first. after all being an american means you can be black white brown or yellow.
