My father has told us our whole lives that we were part Sioux and that his great grandmother was 100%. He had one of those DNA test done but nothing showed up. It may have been a popular myth people told their kids to make them more sympathetic to native americans. Or it might have been told jokingly to a small child and never revealed as such and the child grows up and passes on the tale. It's easy for me to see how it could happen. Until last year when my dad told me, I had always believed I had Sioux blood running in my veins. LOL me like um peacepipe

Yes, but my father was told by his mother who said she was told by her mother. If it was a lie it happened over a hundred years ago in my family's case. For whatever reason, I don't know, but it happened.
