The Republican convention is next July. The trial should be over by then. Note the NY trial comes before the Florida one.

Judge sets a trial date for next May in Trump’s classified documents case in Florida
A federal judge in Florida has scheduled a trial date for next May for former President Donald Trump in a case charging him with illegally retaining hundreds of classified documents.
The May 20, 2024, trial date, set Friday by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, is a compromise between a request from prosecutors to set the trial for this December and a bid by defense lawyers to schedule it after the 2024 presidential election.
If the date holds, it would follow close on the heels of a separate New York trial for Trump on dozens of state charges of falsifying business records in connection with an alleged hush money payment to a porn actor. It also means the trial will not start until deep into the presidential nominating calendar and probably well after the Republican nominee is clear — though before that person is officially nominated at the Republican National Convention.

I am very happy with the May date as it will allow Jack Smith to get the Washington DC squeezed in before it.
Aileen Cannon has the very real ability to ensure no other case came to docket by instead granting Jack Smith his requested date, of dec 11 but then as that date approached entertaining motion after motion to delay, each pushing the case back in 3 month or longer increments. Effectively she would leave no ability to squeeze in any other case but could keep granting hearings on frivolous Trump motions that would delay it beyond the election.
A smart Aileen Cannon would have done that but we all know she is not smart.
What we will now see is Jack file the Washington case early next week, ask for an expediated trial, and almost certainly get it.
Aileen has likely thrown Trump out of the frying pan, thinking that helped him, but right into the fire!

Raise the question if Trump is as innocent t as he claims, and his lemmings believe, why isn’t he working for a quick trial, don’t innocent people want to prove their innocence as soon as they can, especially in a Court where the Judge is in their corner?

As you would know if you were a competent lawyer this is a very complex case. This probably will take at least 2 years to get to trial.

She's under a microscope. One year is plenty of time for them to get security clearances and prepare to lose a trial. I don't see even her extending the trial.
