Trump has a Mandate

Mandates are made -not given. He's got every opportunity to claim one if he is successful.
If not he's a screw up.

I gladly would have voted for Bernie over Trump - Trump is a pig in the poke -Bernie is at least anti-establishment(populist).
Bernie went after Hillary for her crappy judgement and Big Donor driven/corruption.
So much so that Trump ended up co-oping his lines.

Someone who's been a registered Democrat for more than a few months.

I recall this same point being made about trump in the beginning. The republican establishment wasn't in his corner and he was very vocal complaining about it.

As example of what I mean is that for many years the Senate was able successfully block civil rights legislation via broad opposition in the Senate but those Senators only represented around 15% of the total population. That could hardly be considered a mandate but Southern Conservatives claimed during that era that they had a mandate from the people to block civil rights legislation. They were wrong and ultimately the will of the people, that is a mandate from the people, to protect the civil rights of minorities was enacted.

The only mandate Trump has is from his supporters and if he tries to move legislation through congress on the basis that he has a popular mandate it should come as a surprise to no one that he'll probably fail.

Bloody hell, does it really matter? He won were it counts in the EC. If you don't like it then change the system.
