You resort to reducto ad absurdum. I have never advocated for NO government. I advocate for a federal gobblement that adheres 100% to the Constitution as originally written, which would eliminate about 90% of the federal gobblement.

Department of Agriculture? It can go
Department of Education? It can go
IRS? It can go
Department of Commerce? It can go
Department of Interior? It can go
FBI? It can go
CIA? It can go
DHS? It can go
HHS? It can go
Department of Labor? It can go

All of it can go.

That leaves the State Department, Treasury Department and Department of Defense. All of it can be funded with $700 billion a year which could be funded with a 4% national sales tax.

Anyone planning a family trip to a national park is screwed because the parks are all closed.

A shutdown would affect the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, so people waiting for gun permits to get processed may not see them anytime soon.

People who own small businesses and need a loan from the government, will have to wait longer.

Those who are planning to buy a house and need a federal loan, will also have to wait.

Retired veterans might have to make a several more trips to the mailbox before their checks arrive.

And finally, this kind of needless disruption of normal life just makes us look like a country of idiots who can't stop fighting with each other.
