It isn't rocket science on how to deal with radicalized fanatics of any stripe. Eric Hoffer provided the answers on how to deal with these folks 60 years ago in his famous book "The True Believer". Though the use of our military is an essential tool to combat these kinds of radicals it doesn't require the whole sale invasions or abandoning our values. Most importantly the underlying issues that cause radicalization need to be addressed. It is in this respect that America is failing to lead on the issue of Islamic terrorism. I strongly urge anyone who wants to understand why radicalization is happening in the Middle East and how best to combat it while minimizing the loss of life please read this small book.
