Trump again again bans THC…

STOP BREAKING THE LAW.:cig:

The marijuana when I was a kid had 1.5 to 3 % THC the marijuana today is 15-20% and some gummies have 30% THC. Marijuana has many bad effects on humans. We don't need to make it even more accessible to kids. A recent study in Ohio showed 41.9% of deceased drivers in car crashes had THC in their systems.
And yet alcohol and a host of drugs made in labaroteries that have much worse health impacts but can get patents and make big pharma tons of money get legalized.

You have to be the most stupid of magat dupes to think this is anything but protecting big pharma and few other lobbies profits.

and learn the difference between correlation and causation as this is not the first time you have made this stupid mistake. You would find 'food in the stomach' of more than 41% of Ohioans deceased drivers from car crashes.

I believe in a balance, but am particularly for freedom on actions that only harm the individual doing them.

I don’t believe in regulating big gulps or THC.

I can see an argument for regulating Herion due to the huge cost on society.

I know plenty of THC users who cost society nothing, in fact they contribute. I know 0 such heroin users, and I do know a few.
<hand up> Hi, nice to meet you. I made my company $625,000 last year.

To me - the definition of alcohol abuse:

Spilling your drink!
There are people who abuse it, but not everyone who drinks it is an abuser of it.

Plenty of studies show moderate drinking can actually be helpful.

Makes sense to me because humans have evolved with fermented drink/food for millions of years. Things are not generally inherently bad/good for you, they are dependent on how adapted our species is to the things.

If fruit were not available to early humans, our digestive systems would not have developed the ease of digesting it.

Are your big gulps potentially dangerous to me?
Yes.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) claims that 8% of fatal crashes and 15% of injury crashes in 2018 were reported as distraction-affected crashes. That equates to 2,841 people killed and an estimated additional 400,000 people injured – all from distracted driving. And eating and drinking are considered to be driving distractions by the NHTSA. cite

marijuana is good for you.

it undoes brainwashing and makes you a better person.

I reject your premise.
42% of dead drivers from crashes in Ohio had THC in their systems.

Over 40% of Deceased Drivers in Motor Vehicle Crashes Test Positive for THC, Study Shows

“I was surprised to see that level,” said lead author Akpofure P. Ekeh, MBBS, FACS, a professor of surgery at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. “An average level of 30.7 ng/mL generally means those people must have consumed marijuana at some time close to driving. This isn’t about residual use; it’s about recent consumption.”

AI Summary:

The Ohio study specifically includes the period both before and after Ohio legalized recreational cannabis. ACS

Here are the relevant timing details:

  • The study period was January 2019 to September 2024, per the ACS summary. ACS
  • Ohio legalized recreational cannabis via Issue 2 on November 7, 2023, and the law took effect December 7, 2023. ohioafp.org+2The Washington Post+2
  • The study’s authors explicitly state that the 41.9% THC-positive rate was “unaffected by the state’s legalization … during the study period.” ACS

Does the Study Claim Causation?

  • No — the study does not claim or prove that THC caused the crashes.
    • It's an observational, postmortem toxicology analysis.
The study was reported as an abstract (ACS Clinical Congress), and as of release, it had not yet undergone full peer review. ACS

Yes i highlighted your stupidity.

Your argument is if people who take THC get in a car and drive that poses a danger. You asked if it put you in danger?

It is also true if a person drinking a big gulp gets in a car and drives it poses a danger to you.

A person who is not stupid, would take from that the answer is to not ban big gulps or THC and instead tell people not to drive at that time.

You don't think that the 42% of deceased drivers in Ohio car wrecks hurt anyone but themselves?

Do you think alcohol ONLY hurts the user?

How many times have we heard THC is like alcohol?

Every action helps and harms others, it's a matter of degree as to when the law should get involved. I do think it should be illegal to drive a car while affected by THC. If cars become a LOT safer and people rarely are harmed in crashes, we should change such a law.

But then again the caffeine in Big Gulps and frequent bathroom breaks would stop people from falling asleep at the wheel. And falling asleep at the wheel is a huge factor in fatal accidents.
