The false claim:
" the keystone pipeline is a midget fart in a hurricane. " a #80
The fact:
a) Not too many years ago the U.S. was not merely dependent on energy imports, but dependent on OPEC, a source in the most volatile region on Earth.
b) Due to energy conservation measures, expanding renewable energy, fossil fuel cleaner than coal, like hydro-fracking, etc, under Obama the U.S. was reportedly a net energy exporter.
c) Oil transport is trouble. There's more than just the train wreck that got dozens killed.
Pipelines have problems too.
And some of these pipeline paths go through sacred aboriginal American territory.
d) A significant pipeline spill could jeopardize the potable water for substantial tracts of land.
Bottom Line:
Completing these pipelines are more about indulging corporate greed than they are about solving an energy problem or promoting the welfare of the People of the United States.
Imagine!
The Black president sided with the welfare & health of the People.
The $Billionaire sides with the corporate $profit interests.
Hooooood of thunk it ?!
