Troy Davis execution delayed

Revenge is everywhere....all over the entire world....whether it is manifested in execution, jail time, flogging or a $10 fine......it just a matter of degree.

Death is a pretty final degree.

Poor Blabo.

Then why did they release the first man they charged? Seems like, if they were just wanting blood and any black man would do, they would have gone with the one they had already arrested and had in custody... or why not do a 2-for-1 deal and convict both? As the investigation unfolded, they determined they had the wrong man.... they *gasp* released him! Oh my....the KKK should revoke their memberships!

What is the name of this person they charged and released?

Some prefer to call it justice, its all the same.

No, it is not all the same. Justice and revenge are not the same thing. And whether it happens all over the world or not is irrelevant.

The same result could have been gained by locking the man up for the rest of his life. And we would not have been a party to murder and we could have released him if new evidence surfaced concerning his innocence.

no it would not. are you now going to pick up retard of dune's reasoning that nothing can ever be 100% proven?

Yes it would be, if you are interpreting the English language the same as I am. It is impossible to be 100% certain beyond ALL DOUBT about ANY FUCKING THING! MORON! You can be REASONABLY sure... You can be 99.99999% certain.... but you can NEVER be 100% absolutely positively certain beyond any and all doubt... it's IMPOSSIBLE!

i have zero doubt you're wrong. i have zero doubt you're a moron.

IF Jay Leno, in front of millions on live TV, pulled out a gun and shot his guest, Alec Baldwin in the face, killing him... it would be OBVIOUS he committed the crime, he would be arrested and given a trial... in the trial, his defense could argue that it wasn't Jay Leno you saw, it was an alien impostor, Jay had been abducted and was aboard the mothership, and an alien assumed his identity in order to carry out a hit on Alec Baldwin.... Far fetched? You betchya... but can you PROVE that it is impossible? If not, you have to find Leno NOT GUILTY by your own standards... you can't prove with 100% certainty, beyond ANY AND ALL doubt, that he committed the crime! You CAN prove BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that he did.... you see, the alien abduction story is not REASONABLE.... understand, moron???

Of course its relevant....its relevant in showing that we, here in the USA, are not unique in doling out revenge/justice....
and of course Justice and revenge are exactly the same thing, depending on which end of the whip you're on....
And I never mentioned the Troy issue or "result"....thats not what I'm talking about....thats a different subject altogether....

The Muslims call it justice to cut your hand off for stealing....we call it justice to scold you and forgive, of course, depending on the degree of the stealing....
sometimes, the more you steal, the more your forgiven....See Charlie Rangel for an example....

What is the name of the person police arrested and released Dixie?

The death penalty is not murder. Murder is a legal term.

I used to be pro death penalty, but after travesties of Justice like the OJ trial, where if a man is rich enough he can buy his justice, I changed my opinion. Unless we finance, as tax payers, forensic experts and tests for the indigent, there is no justice. Justice must not be constrained by a mans ability to afford a defense. We provide attorneys' based on this principle. We have now advanced science to such a degree that we can prosecute a man based on it- so too a man ought not be kept, due to his inability to pay, the right to have these kinds of experts and science available for him to use in his defense.

Kiss my ass you brain challenged pinhead...other than posting the time of his demise, I didn't say a fuckin' thing about this execution....
and if you think that telling you the time of his death makes me somehow responsible for it is just fuckin' idiotic....

What did you do to stop it?

In addition to the comments above, I dislike that the accused is attacked in court by an elected official. The DA cannot be said to be impartial or interested in justice if his continued employment is based on popularity with the mob. To be able to say "I put X amount of murders on Death Row" will garner far more votes than "I just wasn't sure he was guilty, so I didn't push for the death penalty".

Deputy DA's are not elected and neither are executive DA's. I am not aware of who prosecuted Troy Davis-but it was unlikely the elected DA. Every attorney, whether they be defense or prosecution, look to put feathers in their caps.

What I wrote earlier was based on our supposed ethics within our own justice system- The idea that science, used to prosecute a man, is not afforded to him in like manner for his defense because he is poor, is contrary to our justice system-imo.

I agree wholeheartedly. But, I must be fair in adding, I am opposed to capital punishment on moral grounds as well.

I am not opposed on moral grounds- but on the grounds of a system that is no longer balanced in favor of the accused unless he has money. A man knowingly murders another and does so without regards for the consequences of said act. He then must, also be accountable, to those consequences if caught-there is no moral question in that circumstance that I can see.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a cop killer executed. Today is truly a wonderful day. I am so happy Troy Davis is dead. Executions are awesome.

Face it, this comes up every year. A year or two ago it was tookie williams. People love defending scumbag criminals.

I would also like to state, that no one should believe the conservatives that claim to be against the death penalty. It's a ruse and a stealthy strategy on their part to give up a little ground and make it seem like they are slightly more humanitarian, when they really aren't seeing that they will still make sure someone is in a small cell for their entire life. These same conservatives that are "Against the death penalty" will meanwhile have 50 guns and routinely enjoy killing things and also wouldn't hesitate to shoot someone that walked onto their property. Make no mistake, all conservatives secretly love the death penalty. It is very satisfying executing people.

And as a semi-conservative, I admit this truth. executions are a wonderful affair, we should have balloons and music and food and a wonderful party each time one happens.

I have no problem saying I would kill someone defending my home and family. But that is quite different. In defending my home I can either defend it or surrender (or risk losing). Keeping Troy Davis in jail for the rest of his life would have served us just as well.

We willingly took a human life when that life was no threat. I see that as wrong.
