Ok. But if there is a psychological phenomena as well as biological where one is born as one sex yet feel like they're another how can we for certain claim that their concerns are not like those who experience racism? It simply boils down to discrimination.

It's a very deep debate to be had and is no where NEAR back and white. Stalls should fix almost all of the issues. If a hermaphrodite see's themselves as a male they can go into the stall in a male bathroom or vise versa.

I'm fully aware that we just broke open the tranny talk and now I'm moving onto the even more unmentionable..........but eventually they will be seen as humans we have to debate about also.

Isn't this the same sort of slippery slope argument that was mocked when gay marriage was discussed as having a future impact on polygamy and incestuous marriages?

How about this... what if a white male student believes that he was assigned the wrong external racial appearance, and that inside he is really an African American.

Should he be eligible for affirmative action assistance, school racial quota admissions, and racial set-asides? Why should he treated according to his body's physical appearance as opposed to what he identifies himself as?

I don't look closely at people in public rest rooms. For all any of us know we could have shared with a transgender person without being aware of it.

Public restrooms are notorious for aiding bad behavior. Parents, women, children, don't need the added risk of wondering whether someone is transgender or a sexual predator. Its just an unnessesary dilemma and controversy in my opinion.

I've read the thread. You basically think transgender people should use the wrong restroom because out of concern for other restroom patrons. (Aside: I wonder why you look at the issue solely from that perspective). Even accepting your outlook, I don't think you've thought it through. I mean, if men are more comfortable using the restroom solely with other men, why does it make sense to force a person dressed as a woman to use the mens' room? If women are more comfortable using the restroom with only other women, why does it make sense to force a person dressed as a man to use the womens' room? And if you're worried about perverts taking advantage of transgender use of restrooms that conform to their identity, aren't you actually making it easier for men to go into the ladies' room if women who identify and dress as men have to use the ladies' room?

Ive always thought it strange that we had separate bathrooms. I remember in college, at my frat house, during big parties the bathrooms always became co-ed, because the woman's bathroom was so small. We never had any problems due to the co-ed bathrooms. Even considering it was a frat house full of drunk college kids.

I'm an Alaskan, up here, if no restroom is available there is always a wooded area where one can use to
the open air toilet! Lol. A prepared Alaskan always has toilet paper in your auto.
 
Heck, Im a fundamentalist. If God had intended us to pee indoors and be separated he would have made bathrooms in nature.
