I once reached over my GF, punched the lamp, and fell right back to sleep.
For no apparent reason.
Poor lamp. Did you break it? Did you wake her up?I once reached over my GF, punched the lamp, and fell right back to sleep.

Poor lamp. Did you break it? Did you wake her up?Now, they are the old timers!Earlier I referenced a dear friend who I lost recently. He spoke about being shunned by the V.A for years, because the old timers didn't consider Vietnam a 'war'.
Actually, I was referring to the mental aspects of martial arts via meditation when I referenced benefits, but I guess it was rather vague.
Because awareness of ones surroundings is half of the battle
Good point. Back when I was in class, there were no cellphones. But being aware was always the first step to remaining safe.It really is. It's amazing to watch people in a parking lot, totally oblivious to everything around them, focused on their phone, car keys, packages, kids, etc. That's what crooks look for, distraction.
LOL. It was a metal lamp (thankfully). I think she eventually got used to it.Poor lamp. Did you break it? Did you wake her up?
They are also the end of the draft era. BIG change in society after that. Not so much in Washington, and their useless acts of aggression. Now, they are the old timers!
Well, the reason that happened to you and others, and the reason the war ended after an uproar in this nation, is the same. You are absolutely correct about Nam vets. I was spit on called a baby burner at the airport on my way home. I do have the satisfaction of breaking the nose of the guy who spit on me. LOL

One night she screamed at me because (evidently) I was reaching around and my fingers were playing the piano on her face.
All in my sleep.
That's hilarious.
You started the thread with a lie, and you demand proof of others?
I believe one of your demands was a response to my claim that the hero in this story seems to think that he fought for our freedom.
That's a lie.
He fought for Exxon/Mobil, Halliburton, and Blackwater.
There is nothing that transpired in any of the U.S acts of aggression after WW2 that had/has anything to do with 'our freedoms'.
That's just a cookie cutter response to every discussion about veterans.
LMAO. To this day I wake in the morning with naked pillows and the flat sheet on the floor. I must be an active sleeper.![]()

That's hilarious.
Mr. Owl once woke me up pinching my arm. He said he was dreaming that he was annoyed by someone at work so was pinching them to make them go away. As a result, I made this into a ring tone for my phone, for when he calls me. (He's a retired software engineer.)
.
Watch t.v. like the rest of us did to disprove your OP.Prove it was a lie!

Master Althea knowingly ripped off women and the parents of girls for years claiming they could defend themselves against a larger opponent instead of telling them to save their money and buy a gun.
Not everyone wants to carry. I'd rather know how to defend myself -- or even better, avoid trouble -- w/o it.
