It must be tough for people between sexes to navigate the world that draws such distinct lines between them. Lines that do not exist except in our cultural training. We are all supposed to a mixture of genes and sex determinants. Most of us are clearly one or the other. The others have to suffer at the hands of haters. They are just people trying to get along in the world.

Very true. Accepting that people can change their biological sex would be like telling an 80 pound anorexic person that they are fat and need to lose weight.

As a person with a psychological disorder, I can tell you, you have to handle them without all this judgment, and eagerness to spite them, because they sicken you. It's things like that that turns mental issues, into mental monsters. Since they fall under a group with political influence, the issue gets more politicized with every case of bigotry. The bigotry has done so much, it's not just about rights anymore, it's about pushing back.

Which is equally counterproductive as claiming that a mental disorder is not one at all, and merely represents a lifestyle or subculture.

I've often seen how stereotypes, and ideas of what things should be, could create this gender issue. It's similar to eating disorders. I remember how certain guys acted, when I cried hearing the story of Old Yeller, in the 6th grade. They also hassled me about leaving the football team. It just wasn't for me. I even remember being mocked by a few for liking Pokemon, but now look at things.
 
Why are there SO MANY posts about 'ambiguous' or 'altered sexuality' on this board? It's astonishing! Do we have some posters who have 'issues' with their OWN sexuality? Sure looks like it.

True, but having an eating disorder will truly eff you up. People were going to give you a hard time, even if it was something as mundane as buying your jeans from GAP instead of Abercrombie (I bought, and buy, from Old Navy, so, I'm not sure what my punishment was supposed to be).
